PRESENTATION

The Relais Monastero Santa Teresa, a historical monument, is a Baronial Palace of the thirteenth century, which was converted into a cloistered Monastery of the Discalced Carmelites in 1600 following the donation of Baron Sambiasi to the Church. Today, the Relais offers itself as an ideal place to spend a relaxing Holiday in an ancient and prestigious building, near the most beautiful beaches of Salento, the National Park of Portoselvaggio and the most important baroque towns. The spacious bright rooms with antique floors and frescoed ceilings recall the charm of the nobility from the Middle Ages to Renaissance. The balconies and terraces of the Palazzo offer breathtaking views onto baroque churches and the garden. The ground floor leads to the Monastery with it's impressive high vaults sculptured by Tarantino and the medieval Church, which identifies itself as the perfect place for any type of cerimony and event. The Relais is located in the historical center of Nardò next to the Bishop's Palace and the Cathedral, just 8 km from Gallipoli (called the pearl of the Ionian Sea), 3,8 km from Portoselvaggio National Park, and 25 km from Lecce. The nearest airport is Brindisi (85 km) or alternatively Bari (180 km).
